Ian Snider, CEO

Ian is an accomplished business owner and leader with more than 25 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry. His career has encompassed all aspects of the business, including installation, system design, sales and estimating, and executive management. As a key leader of Crawford Sprinkler’s management team, he brings a well-rounded perspective and a commitment to operational excellence and customer service.

Ian holds a degree in Fire Protection Engineering Technology from Algonquin College and is NICET Level III certified in Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Layout. He is also licensed as a Fire Sprinkler Installation Contractor in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Georgia, reflecting his extensive expertise and qualifications throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Matt Johnson, President

Matt began his career in the fire protection industry in 1997, joining his family’s business where he gained hands-on experience in a variety of roles, including fabrication, installation, and system design. In 2001, he relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, to join a national fire protection contractor. Over the years, he advanced through positions in layout design, sales and estimating, and project management, building extensive expertise across all facets of the industry.

In 2018, Matt joined Crawford Sprinkler as Vice President and currently serves as President. He holds a NICET Level III certification in Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Layout and is licensed as a Fire Sprinkler Installation Contractor in North Carolina. With nearly three decades of industry experience, Matt brings strong technical knowledge, leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality fire protection solutions.

Ricky Knuckles, Vice President

Ricky joined Crawford Sprinkler in 1990 as a Fire Sprinkler Helper and has built an exceptional career with the company over the past three decades. Beginning in an entry-level field position, he advanced through the ranks of Fitter, Foreman, Construction Superintendent, Operations Manager, and Sales & Estimating before ultimately serving as Vice President.

His extensive experience across both field operations and management has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the fire protection industry and the successful execution of complex projects. Ricky also holds a NICET Level II certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, further demonstrating his commitment to technical excellence and industry standards.
